 I just learned that I won $75 in last nights lottery draw. I had 4 out of the 6 numbers but because they throw in the bonus number you really do not get to see the money until you reach 5 numbers. Oh well, it was once in a blue moon that I win and wouldn't you know it, last night was a blue moon! Things are looking up... I woke up and realized I gained an hour so my sleeping in didn't seem so obvious :-) Then I learn of my windfall.. it makes my reason to stop and enjoy the scenery that much more important.

 It has been well over 1 year since my last post to this blog. Was it a forgotten place? Yes of course, just like most items you find in your brain if you stop and think about it.  I recently visited a family that was dealing with Alzheimer's within the family. I can relate, similarly my father had dementia.  As a kid I just thought all this stuff was "old age" . One thing I noticed that helped me differentiate between the two, even though I may be completely incorrect or even  a little bit unsure, is that with dementia you just stop remembering and with alzheimer's you would vividly remember your childhood but forget what you just did.  Regardless of which the person has, it becomes very hard for family to be able to care for. In most cultures you may keep this within the family as more than one generation may reside together. Therefore it may become a natural transition. But I digress... I hope to provide a more active role, providing what I hope to be able to...

There are many things in this world that amaze me and make me wonder, pretty much on a daily basis. As I get older I find myself reflecting on a time when my father would have told me something and I would have thought at that time, "I'm never going to think about things like that".. and yet here I am many years later doing just that.  There is a lot to be said about age and wisdom. Many times the wisdom comes with just having previously done something stupid and realize, "that was dumb, I will never do that again", and you usually don't.  If you are thinking clearly at the time you are about to do the same stupid thing, you typically stop and realize that you have been down this road before and remember the last time the results were anything but pleasant so you likely will stop and do the task another way. But there are some things I have always wondered about. Talking to a scientist they call it "random number theory" and so I can only answer b...
