Big Brother-Ava's Reign

OK so I have previously stated that I believe this will be the last season of Big Brother USA.. If it isn't then it seriously might be mine!

From the very beginning, I get it that times have changed and we need to adjust things over the years.  The problem is on each countries version of Big Brother, the one common element that is slowly disappearing is the live feed visibility.  They simply stop the feeds (fish, now animal shelter). Previous years we would get to see the feed pretty much once the live show was done. Later they started waiting longer and longer through the night before showing the live feed or giving a 1 minute sneak peak every 20 min or so.. it was truly a tease and just messing with the live feeders. But now it is quite apparent that with Big Brother Canada folding, even UK is questionable and CBS doing whatever they can to keep the chenbot happy, even though her husband is no longer the main man in charge.

This is where I believe the structure of Big Brother has evolved to the point where normal broadcast television shows, in order to exist, need to have their script so tight to their chest, that having live feeders changes the outcome (in their opinion).  It does, but only to the overall class of the show, losing all public perception of caring for those that care the most--the live feeders.  Do they bring the money in? In a round about way, yes!

Think about it, this program was created before there was the internet as we know it. Social Media was not a thing yet.  Now we have nothing but social media playing havoc on real world issues. So it might make sense to limit how much the social media gets to see when you are attempting to create a "television show" .. but alas, this is not a television show per-say, it is a game show and the live feeders have managed to keep the show alive.

Now on to why I feel this way after watching Ava's HOH win episode (Sunday's episode). It is quite obvious those house guests that have never seen the show before. Zach and Riley picking players... Which now brings me to Production playing the biggest part within the Diary Room sessions, asking the questions the way they want to place seeds in each players head, to create their own narratives.. Ava is a gem for this and so why not run with it.. great, but because you don't give a shit about the feeders, you have purposely kept us from seeing what the resulting Veto and Rachel's goo session, why?  How does this possibly change your narrative other than piss off those that have kept your show going.

It is for these reasons that I truly believe this will be (if not it probably should be) the last season, even though I will feel terrible not having this (to criticize in a good way) anymore.

This season, the houseguest are either clueless due to not knowing the game at all. They are completely paranoid and fearful of Rachel (instead of sticking up as a house at the beginning of the game when it was first mentioned during Vince's HOH. This is also why Rachel has her eye on Vince from day 1.. because he was the first HOH and essentially formed the alliance that was against Rachel.  Because the first player to leave the game (was also the mole that nobody knew except Rachel initially, but has since told others) was also the first person Rachel picked as a alliance member. They are right, Rachel is alone now that Jimmy has exited but it took her no time at all to pick up Ava that week which insured her to positioning the HOH in her favour.

In my opinion, the final season (as they should market it but if it is successful they would continue) would be to have a season where 1: the houseguest are all superfan to the point, like myself, that have seen every season. True this would make it a loss to the younger generation, but to have a side by side house with those previous houseguests that have played but never won (not even final 3). Then you have a challenge.

As for the feeds, keep them wide open but utilize the sponsorship more like BB Can did with Skip the dishes/doordash Oral B (toothbrushes for all houseguests).. that is another thing I can't figure.. I haven't used a manual toothbrush in 30 years yet on BB USA I have never seen one used.. this would be due to what they can and can't bring into the house.. pathetic.
